Watch Those School Zones as Cameras are Watching You [map & more]

It’s back to school time, which also means it’s time for us to pay more attention to those school zones.  One of the most expensive tickets you can get ($200+) is to get caught going over the speed limit in a zone AND those cameras are catching EVERY violator.  Not intentional of course.  So keep an eye out for the kiddos and those yellow flashing beacons in school zones.  And as the city will tell you:  There is one easy way to avoid a ticket…don’t speed.

When Children Are Present” is legally defined by any of the following conditions:

  • School children are walking within the marked crosswalk.
  • School children are waiting at the curb or on the shoulder of the roadway to cross at the marked crosswalk.
  • School children are present or walking along the roadway, either on the adjacent sidewalk or on the shoulder.
