The School of Arts and Communication at Pacific Lutheran University is thrilled to announce that Tony Award®-winning actor Alice Ripley will visit the campus in Tacoma, Wash. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, for a master class and live performance in the Focus on Broadway series.
PLU Theatre students will directly benefit from Ripley’s extensive experience on stage and screen during a master class on Friday, February 14. Ripley will work with four students on their singing and acting skills as an invited audience of theatre students observes. “PLU Theatre and Dance prides itself on preparing tomorrow’s stars today and connecting our students with Tony® winners and Broadway talent of Alice Ripley’s caliber is one important way to do this,” said Tom Smith, Chair, Department of Theatre and Dance.
The next night, Saturday, February 15, the public is invited to join us as Ripley performs a medley of songs from her songbook and shares anecdotes and wisdom gained throughout her fruitful career. The performance will take place on campus in Eastvold Auditorium in the Karen Hille Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Smith remarked, “This is an amazing opportunity to bring one of Broadway’s biggest stars to our community to share her incredible talents.”More Info
