Miriam Boeri is Associate Professor of Sociology at Bently University, MA. Miriam has been doing research on drug use and abuse in our society and has focused on the life histories of 100 baby boomers who were all users of illicit drugs. Miriam gives unique perspectives as she looks at their family life, the disruptions in each “subject’s” personal life–juvenile detection, missing out on milestones such as proms and high school graduation. Miriam weaves their stories int0 the context of historical events occurring during the 60s and 70s, and provides a compassionate and important story in her new book: Hurt: Chronicles of the Drug War Generation.
