Some sad news for Star Wars fans this morning as well; episode 8, which was originally scheduled to hit theatres in May of 2017 will now not come out until December 15th, 2017…which is basically 2018. Will Smith was asked to present Best Picture at the Oscars, in what seems to be an attempt to relieve racial tensions surrounding this year’s awards. Smith says he will not attend the awards, joining his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith who called for a boycott earlier this week because of the lack of diversity in this year’s nominations. Of his decision not to attend, Smith says “I think that I have to protect and fight for the ideals that make our country and make our Hollywood community great, so when I look at the series of nominations from the Academy, it’s not reflecting that beauty.”
