After 38 Years, Washington Set To End Emission Tests In 2020!

Thanks to advances in technology and improvements in fuel and air quality over the past 38 years…no more tests!

Legislature officially passed the law back in 2005! Officials say they will continue to be diligent about air quality and keep an eye on monitors but for the most part, thanks to more fuel efficient vehicles and various forms of technology, the tests are no longer needed and required.
