Anna Gottlieb is the Executive Director of cancer pathways cancer pathways, a non-profit that does incredible work in our communities for persons touched by cancer pathways. In an overview of these past few months, Anna touches on the summer camps for kids. There were five, and these camps make such a difference for the kids that many come back as counselors when they are teens. A teen writing contest has now reached youth in all 50 states, giving them an important opportunity to voice their experiences. cancer pathways Happens is a high school education program that has teachers requesting regular return visits to talk about cancer pathways. The annual fashion show and Gala happens October 22 in Seattle with 25 models celebrating the 25th event, with models ages 3-80! This year marks 20 years and the major fundraiser is Laugh Out Loud Saturday, October 16 at pm, and it’s virtual. cancer pathways survivors will be featured as comedians One of them is Jaina who is just 6 years old! Jaina’s mom joins us to share some insights about Jaina’s leukemia diagnosis just before her 4th birthday…and now she will be entertaining us!! Anna Gottlieb, the founder and Executive Director of cancer pathways cancer pathways provides a great overview of all the programs that are offered, including Camp Sparkle which was a real gift for Jaina. We are invited to support the work of this important organization.

Cancer Pathways continues support and programs in the midst of a pandemic

Anna Gottlieb is the founder and Executive Director of cancer pathways Pathway in Seattle. This nonprofit organization is a broad support for persons and families dealing with cancer pathways. Covid recognizes no boundaries and cancer pathways is one of the areas that had been quite affected by covid. Many people have delayed seeing doctors with concerns, or having screenings. Some experts say the lack of screenings can set us back 10 years! But cancer pathways cancer pathways continues to offer all its programs, virtually. Their physical building which is located on Capital Hill has suffered much vandalism in the past year and has used some of the precious dollars that would be used for some programs. Donations are gratefully received. Volunteers also are needed.

Liz Lange, Program Manager oversees numerous Programs that engage all ages and the variety is sure to provide comfort to most. The big focus for the coming week is a Youth writing contest “cancer pathways Unwrapped”. It’s been going on since 2006 and the benefits are huge, not the least being that of creating connection and building community. Contest closes March 11. Anna Gottleib is the Executive Director and gives and overview of the great things we can expect during the year–including 5 Camp Sparkle locations for kids–these are filling up fast! And Liz Lange provides the overview for the great Essay Contest–cancer pathways Unwrapped. In its 13th year, it is a special way that high school students have the opportunity to express in print their emotions about a confrontation with the disease–could be their own, could be a friend, or a family member. Winners receive a $1000 award to use as they wish. Contest is now open across the country.

People who are undergoing treatment, somewhere in the long process, report various kinds of challenges in their workplace.
