One of the cool things about living around the Puget Sound is that we share our area with several pods of Orca whales. The Orcas (or killer whales) are the ocean's top predator, even over the Great White shark.
The whales are amazing to view in their natural habitat. I've been on several whale watching trips and I've been lucky enough to see them every single time. I highly recommend you taking in a whale watching trip!
Recently, an all WHITE Orca whale was spotted off the Kamchatkan Penisula, off Russia's west coast. The male all white Orca is the only one known to exist. He is estimated at 16 years old. Cool!
