TV Show Recommendation

If you loved Discovery Channel productions like "Planet Earth" you are going to love "Winged Planet." It's a new documentary from British filmmaker John Downer. He also directed the documentary "Tiger: Spy in the Jungle."

In "Winged Planet", Downer has installed super mini 3D cameras on the backs of birds so we can see what they see in-flight. The previews on this look absolutely stunning. You'll get to see eagles, cranes, pelicans, snow geese and others as they soar through the air over special landmarks and in the wild. There's one spectacular scene that was filmed in the Sea of Cortes in Mexico. It shows a bird approaching a group or large rays in the water. Suddenly, the rays are jumping out the water trying to "fly through the air." It's visually stunning to see.

"Winged Planet" will play on the Discovery Channel, Saturday night at 8. Don't miss this one. It looks special.
