Tornado season

It's tornado season across the nation right now. Did you know that the U.S. has more tornadoes than anywhere else on Earth? That's right...we are the tornado leaders. As you probably know, most of our tornadoes happen in what is called "Tornado Alley." It's an area of the midwest that starts in North Dakota and goes south through South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. These states host a huge majority of the tornadoes that hit the U.S.

Storm chasers come from all over to try and get up close and personal with a tornado. For most inexperienced storm chasers, it's a very risky endeavor. Many people have been killed by a tornado that suddenly took a quick turn toward them while they were not expecting it.
