I love watching "The Voice." If you've never seen it, you are missing out on a very entertaining show. The Voice is a different kind of singing competition show. The first thing you'll notice when you watch right now is what they call the "blind auditions." They call it that because the judges on the show only get to HEAR the contestants when they sing. The judges' chairs are turned around so that they can't actually see the person singing. All they have to make their decision to keep the singer is actually listening to their voices. If a judge likes what they hear, they press a button in front of them, and the chair turns around. It's a really unique way to judge a singer. Once the song is over, the judges that DID turn around try to convince the singer to join their team. It's a pretty fun process to watch.
Another thing I love about The Voice is the judges. Adam Levine (from Maroon 5) is my personal favorite. He is one cool dude...I just like him. Then there's CeLo Green, Blake Shelton, and Christina Aguilera. They are all great judges of talent and the way they interact with each other is very entertaining. They trade gentle barbs with each other as they compete to win over the contestants to join their respective teams.
I like The Voice more than X Factor. I just think the concept is better and the judges are more entertaining. But my all time favorite singing competition is...American Idol. I can't wait until January when the new season of A.I. begins.
