Today is officially the first day of Spring! Does it feel like Spring to you? I didn't think so. It takes us longer than most of the country to get into the Spring thing. We get our "April showers" in March, April, AND May. Once the flowers do come out around here, they are indeed beautiful though. One of the best things about living in the Northwest is the blooming of the cherry trees. The purple ones are out already which you've probably noticed. I love the white flowering cherry trees. You know the one I'm talking about with the huge blossoms. Very pretty. Pretty soon, in just a few days actually, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival will be here. If you planted tulip bulbs last year, they'll be up soon if they aren't already.
So, even though our Spring takes a little while longer to get into gear, it is really pretty once it does arrive. Now if it would only stop snowing...
