Mother's Day is coming. May 13th is the big day. I did some research into the history of Mother's Day. I found that Mother's Day, or some form of it, is celebrated all over the world. Many smaller countries took the lead of America is making it an official holiday. Anna Jarvis of West Virginia created the Mother's Day holiday in 1908 and it became an official U.S. holiday in 1914 courtesy of President Woodrow Wilson.
Mother's Day has become one of the biggest days of the year for flowers and greeting card sales. It's also THE biggest day of the year for long distance phone calls.
What I've learned about Mother's Day over the years is this...don't EVER forget it. Missing Mother's Day is equivalent to not getting something special for your Sweetie on Valentine's Day. You just DON'T do it! So this is my friendly reminder to you that Mom's Day is coming up (yes, here's the date one more time) on May 13th. It's time to honor that special lady who has done so much for you all of your life. I already have my flower order in!
