Well, I've finally started reading the Twilight series of books by Stephanie Meyer. I put off reading these books for a long time and I'm not sure why. All I can say is I'm so glad I relented and picked the book up recently. It had been sitting on our bookshelf for a couple of years after I had purchased it for my daughter. About a week ago, I picked it up just to browse a little...and I got hooked! Now I can't put it down. What a great read! I love the way Meyer developes her characters as well as the romance between Edward and Bella.
I think the most amazing thing about "Twilight" and Stephanie Meyer is that it's her FIRST book. To write something like that as a first novel is pretty incredible. It shows true talent. It's also nice to read a book that takes place in the region where we live. Reading about places like Forks and Port Angeles being described gives the book a very local feel.
