I'm on all this week for Tom McCarthy while Tom enjoys some vacation time. Getting up at 2:30am does have it's advantages. My workday is over pretty early. I love the peacefulness of the early morning when I first go outside and head to my car. When I drive to work, there isn't much traffic, either. That's nice too.
I do this 3 times a year for a week at a time when Tom goes on vacation. I really like doing the morning show, but to get enough sleep to sound coherent, you have to be in bed by about 8pm. That's about 6 hours earlier than I normally go to bed (yes, I'm a night person). So the social life takes a backseat for the weeks when I'm doing the morning show.
Sometimes I wonder how Tom does it all year. I think he's a bionic man! I guess it's a lifestyle. You get into a rhythm where it just becomes your way of life. But with a teenager in my house, for the week I do mornings, we shut off the phone...EARLY. Dad's sleep takes priority. My son doesn't like that, but I'm the Dad. LOL.
So Tom McCarthy...I salute you. For getting up early most of the year to get people on their way to work. Now, for today, my biggest task is deciding when "nap time" is this afternoon! See you in the morning tomorrow. Hopefully your wake up time is later than 2:30AM...

mag - What happpened Tom McCarthy & Will Johnson? I don't hear them on the radio anymore.
ConnieBaker - I also have been wanting to know what happened to Tom McCarthy, Will Johnson and Gina Tuttle. It seems there is mostly all new staff at WARM 106.9. Did the station change management?
