I have one of the best aunts anyone could have...my Aunt Lillian. Aunt Lil turned 80 over the weekend and back home in Syracuse, NY, they threw a big party for her. Even though I couldn't be there, I called and talked with her for a few minutes, wishing her a happy 80th!
It's hard to believe when people you love celebrate these milestone birthdays. Time goes by so fast. It seems like yesterday that I was at Aunt Lil's house and she was making me a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup for lunch. My best friend Dave is Aunt Lil's son, and also my cousin. We spent so many summer days playing basketball over at their house when we were growing up. It was like a second home to me.
Yes, time goes by. Do you have someone who is special to you who you haven't talked to in a while? My suggestion is to call them and tell them how much they mean to you. That's what I did with my aunt...I told her how special she was to me and how I have all of these great memories of her while I was growing up. I'm pretty sure it made her feel good to hear those things.
