I'm sure you've noticed the price of gas edging up over the fast few weeks. Experts are saying that most of this rise is due to the disruption caused by Hurricane Isaac when it hit the gulf coast. The latest word from the experts is that prices will continue to edge a little higher or stay where they are for the next 2-3 weeks. After that, they will start to go down as we get into fall. At least, that's what they are saying today. WHO really knows though?
Gas station owners in New Jersey and Philadelphia that run under the Lukoil brand have actually raised their price to $9.99 a gallon! Why? Because they are protesting the parent company's pricing strategy. Lukoil doesn't charge all of the owners the same price and they are upset about that...so that's why they raised the price so high, as a protest. One customer who was just about totally out of gas pulled into one of those stations and filled up before he noticed the price he was paying. Wow...that's one expensive fill up!
Whenever you want to check the latest gas prices, I've found one of the best places to go is gasbuddy.com. You can search the site by location, brand name, or even check the stations with the lowest and highest prices. it's a good site that I would recommend adding to your favorites list.
