What if Maroon 5 crashed your wedding?

“We’re gonna drive across L.A. and hit every wedding we possibly can. It’s gonna be awesome.” That’s what Adam Levine of Maroon 5 says at the beginning of their new music video, “Sugar.” Then the band heads out in a couple of vintage convertibles and proceeds to crash wedding receptions around Los Angeles and play their song, much to the shock and joy of brides and grooms and wedding guests.

Adam told Rolling Stone:

“It was an out of body experience. I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all.”

If the premise of the video seems inspired by the plot of the Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson movie Wedding Crashers, it’s no coincidence — the video was directed by the guy who directed the film.
