Watch this: Sam Smith actually speaks!

We’d heard that Sam Smith was ready to return to the stage on July 3, but yesterday we got confirmation from the man himself. After successful surgery for a vocal cord hemorrhage, Sam Smith has actually spoken! Here’s what he said on Twitter:

“As you can see, I can speak, again for the first time in three weeks, and it has been horrible sitting in silence and knowing that I should be doing shows has killed me,” he said. “But, finally, I have some good news and that is I’m going to be starting all my shows up on the 3rd of July.”

Watch for yourself:

Sounds good, right? So great that he’s back in action, and you can see him on August 8 at the Gorge.
