Want to join the 12s and send the Seahawks off to Arizona this weekend?

Early Sunday morning, the Seahawks will board buses at the VMAC in Renton and head to SeaTac for the flight to Arizona and the Super Bowl. Yeah, they head down there a week early. Gotta get your head in the game and focus! And get used to the dry heat, and — unlike some teams —  be sure your footballs are properly inflated.

Last year, thousands of 12s lined up along the route to wave banners, sport their Seahawks colors and show their support as the team drove by. If you want to join the masses this year, it looks like they’ll be heading down 405 from Renton to I-5 south and then South 188th to SeaTac. (That’s where you’re supposed to congregate — along S. 188th.)

WSDOT tells us that between 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday morning, the ramps to and from South 188th Street and I-5 will be closed to accommodate the team and the fans. There won’t be any access to I-5 from S. 188th for the duration of the motorcade.

(This also means that if you’re catching a flight on Sunday morning, you may have to change your route — maybe take SR 518.)
