Seattle native Chris Hansen, who made his fortune in the Bay area, is proposing an exciting plan to build another sports complex in the SODO district to house not only two, pro teams but also it would be another venue for cultural events and conventions. The important thing is, no tax money would be used to fund the complex under the plan.
For his part, Hansen would raise $290 million and his team would finance the return of an NBA franchise. Mayor McGinn and County Executive Constantine stipulated that it be self-funding and not rely on new taxes.
This sounds like a win-win for everybody! I like the idea. How about you? Comments below, please!

alan - Sports Illustrated describes Hansen's financial liability in the project as "somewhat staggering;" good news for tax-payers! And don't forget your new hockey team, too. Good luck, I hope the numbers add up and construction starts soon.
