Freaky Friday

On my way home from work today I got caught in a monster tie-up on I-405 that had me in stop and go traffic for 45 minutes.

Then, five miles from home while stopped at a light, my clutch decided to give up the ghost and I had to push my car out of the intersection.  Thankfully, the guy behind me jumped out of his car and helped.  Called AAA and had it towed to the shop.

As I was walking home (about 2.5 miles) I thought I'd take a short cut through a sloping grassy field.  You know that feeling when your foot begins to slide and you KNOW you're going down?  With arms flailing, briefcase going up in the air and a few other bags I was toting home going off in another direction, I landed -SPLAT- unceremoniously on my back.

You always want to get up quickly and look around to see if anyone saw you.  Fighting that urge, I just got up, gathered my stuff and wondered what was next.  I didn't get fifty feet from the spot when I broke out laughing.  'I must have looked hilarious' thought I.  Like a YouTube video of guys doing dumb things.

Well, I safely made it home, had lunch and tossed my muddy clothes in the hamper.  I've spent the rest of the day away from power tools and welding torches.

I hope you have a great weekend with no speed bumps in your path!  See you Monday morning on the radio.
