Did you hear about this family from Denver headed for a Belize vacation, but wound up stranded in Dallas when officials refused to accept one of their passports?
Dad, Mom and their son had no problem with their passports when they left Denver. Everything had been checked and cleared...so they thought. When they were changing planes in Dallas, someone identified as an 'airline official' said the dad's passport would not be accepted because it was "mutilated". In actuality, there is a small crease on the back cover where the dad had sat on the passport.
Thing is, it was okay in Denver, but not in Dallas. Different rules? Weird.
Anyway, the dad is getting a new passort as fast as they can, to continue the trip.
I guess the lesson to take away here for the upcoming travel season, is to be careful with your passport and, uh, don't keep it in your back pocket!
