FROM DELILAH:
To those who asked "who is Sammy"? He was, and is, my son. I adopted Sammy D'Zolali (meaning “spirits fly”) from Ghana, West Africa. He spent most of his young life suffering in an orphanage. On the first night that he was fully my son, Sammy told me through his tears that he never dreamed God would answer his prayers. He said “Momma, I always thought I would die alone in the orphanage. That I would never know what it was like to have someone love me”…..and then after several racking sobs, he said “and no one would even know that I had ever lived”…I promised him through my own tears that he would not die alone. That he would not die in an orphanage. That he would be loved more than life by me and many others and that people would know that he had lived.
He left our family on the March 11, 2012, to join other angels in heaven. I am not focusing on his death, but wanting to share his AMAZING life and his incredible heart! He promised his friend, Tutu girl, in Africa, that he would return and take care of the sick orphans left behind...I intend to honor that promise and build a home for the critically and terminally ill children that suffer as Sammy suffered. So they can live, grow, and thrive in love, and if they pass, they will not die alone and unloved as so many do. We will call it "Sammy's Place" and it will be a way to keep his memory ALIVE!
