These nine geese stopped traffic in my neighborhood yesterday as they were crossing the road. With just enough time to quickly snap some pictures, I wondered what they were thinking--maybe something like, “which way to the water?” or “hmm, the grass looks greener on the other side of the road.”
The one bringing up the rear seems to be saying, “make up your mind which way we are going, or I will just stop at that little house and check it out.”
“Ahh, at last” the leader says. “I see the water ahead. I just knew it had to be around here somewhere.”
And off they went to the lake, giving those of us watching them a moment to slow down and reflect on the beauty of nature all around us.
