A Family Visit

Last week, Jannelle and I flew back to Florida for my Mom's birthday.  My sisters and I had been planning this for months with emails flying over where to have it, who would prepare the food... should we have it catered or do it ourselves... have the party at the independent living place Mom calls home or maybe a restaurant's meeting room.  The more 'kids' involved in a parent's party, the more there will be disagreement, right?  I have three older sisters and we almost went on Jerry Springer's TV show over this!

There were going to be about 15 at her party, but when three couldn't make it, we simply decided to have it in her place and she was okay with it.  We all chipped in and picked up pre-arranged 'finger food' from the local supermarket, including a cake, and just had a great time.

Here's a shot of Mom and my oldest sister, Carolyn (sitting), me, Natalie, our Uncle Don and sister Patricia.

Mom lives in the West Palm Beach area and it's never a hardship visiting in February.  :-)  Except for a l-o-n-g plane ride in a cramped seat.

I couldn't have a better, more loving mom than she and I'm blessed to have her still, now at 90.
