Today is World Cancer Day – here’s what you can do about it

World Cancer Day is a day to raise awareness about, and fight, the global cancer epidemic. Yes, it’s a huge job, but if we each do a little, that’s one step closer to finding cures!

You can do something about it – help make “Someday Today” by donating, volunteering or taking part in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society events in your area. Find Seattle area events at the Washington/Alaska Chapter.

And congrats to Bridget Howard, their 2016 Girl of the Year! Bridget is a leukemia survivor and the Washington/Alaska Chapter World Cancer Day spokesperson!

About Sue Romero

Sue Romero has been doing news and traffic on the radio in Seattle since 1994. She is originally from southeast Alaska and moved to Seattle to go to the University of Washington. After graduating, she started her radio career in Houston, Texas, but moved back to Seattle because she missed the trees, hills, water and beauty of the Pacific Northwest. While she was in Texas, Sue danced on the NBA Houston Rockets Dance Team and still regularly takes dance in Seattle. She even attended a Seattle Sea Gals workshop, just for fun! Sue loves movies — especially sci-fi!
