The state needs you – volunteer to help fight wildfires

For the first time in state history, the Department of Natural Resources is asking for volunteers to help fight the wildfires raging across north-central Washington. The fires took a deadly turn this week as we lost 3 firefighters near Twisp in Okanogan County. Remaining crews are exhausted as new fires are sparked and current fires jump containment lines. They need your help!

Two support centers in Colville and Omak open starting today for those interested. For more information on volunteering click here.

AboutSue Romero

Sue Romero has been doing news and traffic on the radio in Seattle since 1994. She is originally from southeast Alaska and moved to Seattle to go to the University of Washington. After graduating, she started her radio career in Houston, Texas, but moved back to Seattle because she missed the trees, hills, water and beauty of the Pacific Northwest. While she was in Texas, Sue danced on the NBA Houston Rockets Dance Team and still regularly takes dance in Seattle. She even attended a Seattle Sea Gals workshop, just for fun! Sue loves movies -- especially sci-fi!
