The Ruby Room, a Seattle nonprofit that provides free formal gowns to low-income teens, foster children and seriously ill children, will celebrate their 10th anniversary at their annual fundraiser fashion show, “Fashion Faux Pas to Fashion Fabulous” at the Seattle Center Fisher Pavilion on Saturday, October 13!
Through partnerships with Washington State high schools, and local social service organizations, the Ruby Room has given away thousands of free prom gowns over the past 10 years.
In 2012 alone, the Ruby Room helped over 500 teens make memories to last a lifetime. The fashion show features emerging and established fashion designers who reconstruct gowns that were donated to the Ruby Room but weren’t asked to the prom. These one-of-a-kind gowns are auctioned off after the fashion show. Attendees also have the opportunity to bid on items such as travel packages, wine, spa services and restaurant gift certificates.
