Starbucks superfan StarbucksMelody reports that the chain will sell a coffee “so scarce and precious” that it will only be in stores this week. By stores, I mean 20 stores in the whole country. Also, it costs $16 for half a pound.
According to GrubStreet, the coffee is “a naturally low-caf Laurina varietal from Nicaragua.” StarbucksMelody explains that Starbucks was able to acquire the only 17 bags of coffee that exist from the farmer (that equals about 750 pounds of coffee), which is why it will be distributed so quickly and in so few locations. She describes the flavor as soft, lemony, and a little almond-y too.
