The GREAT Pumpkin Scultpor!

Meet Russ Leno, the greatest Pumpkin Scultpor ever!  And he's from th NW.  I saw him in person for the first time at the Puyallup Fair this year.  I had to see more of his work so looked up his website.   He's been at it for 30 years, carving pumpkins, sand, wood, watermelons, apples, snow, ice and even SPAM!  (which landed him an appearance on Leno and in People Magazine).  His list of TV shows goes for days!  Martha Stewart, Sharon Osborne, Food Network, this list goes on. This is his favorite time of year and can be seen sculpting these GIANT pumpkins (which I hear start at 900lbs and whittles 'em down to 200lbs).  I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw him, these are the photos I took in September.  Not sure his schedule on website is updated, but do see him scheduled at the UPTOWN in Gig Harbor on the 29th. 

Side note, I'm going to a 'POWER DRILL' Pumpkin carving party this weekend.  Ha!  Fun right? - Shellie Hart

When he carves, he's usually blasting fun beach/surf music.  Pretty cool.  AND, he carves with both hands!
