At the Grocery Store: WHAT IS THAT?!?!?

Oh, how I love to grocery shop!  I'm a 'foody' and can spend up to 2 hours wandering the isles, lookin' at things that I'm sure I must have.  You should see my pantry.  In my mind, you just NEVER know when you MIGHT need it:)  So when I stumbled upon these in the produce dept. at a store in West Seattle the other day, at a glance I was stumped!  It only took a second to realize that yes, they are Brussel Sprouts.  However, had NEVER seen them sold or displayed this way.  Still on the stems, the size of baseball bats.  Ok, so I'm sounding like a city girl...but have you ever seen them this way in a store?  I've even tried to grow 'em but again NEVER have I come across the Brussel this way.  Note that I was not the only one in awe when I stumbled upon them, there were several around as baffled and marveled as I.   A silly thing to blog perhaps, but it occured to me that the simplest things in life, can still be an education.  Cool.  (and BTW, delicious on the grill:) - Shellie Hart
