A 'Souper' Good Time in Burien (PHOTOS)

Had an absolute BLAST on Friday night, as a 'soup' judge for the EMPTY BOWLS Fundraiser in my old hometown of Burien!  (See blog entry HERE). Over 25 restaurants in the area donated soups for the event, and I had the pleasure of sampling every single one of 'em!!!!!  All were delish, and hoping I get asked to do it again.  (Though, I did imply that I may enter one of my soups next year and judge...lol). Thanks again Debra George (Owner/Mark Restaurant in Burien) for the invite!  And what an AWESOME and creative idea to raise funds/proceeds for your local Food Banks!  (Buy the bowl, eat all the soup ya like, tons of bread and cookies donated by Grand Central Bakery, lots of fun conversation & networking, then keep the (ceramic) bowl made by friends at the Moshier Community Art Center).  The entire community comes together for the event, with EVERYTHING donated.  Just plain cool.  Nice work to ALL.

Hope to see you again next year:) - Shellie Hart

Thanks again DEBRA GEORGE (Owner/MARK Restaurant)

Here's my bowl, made by friends at Moshier (in Burien)

And here's Esther Robinson, she made my bowl.  Awesome:)

Pretty cool TROPHY for 1st Place!

Had fun with the Judges. Kevin Fitz (former owner of MEAL MAKERS) and NOEL GIBB (Former Mayor of Burien)
