With a break in the weather this late February, I can't help thinking how resilient us Northwesterners are. Day after day of 40 degree weather, rain, gray skies... it really starts to grate on all of us. But we manage to slog through our lives, drink our coffee's, dreaming of that warm summer that is finally going to materialize...
(if the 2012 Farmer’s Almanac is any indication this year we're in for a warmer than usual summer).
I think this kind of yearly battering makes us a hearty people here in the northwest. I've never seen such a happier lot when the sun makes its appearances. It's like a great awakening. This realization that we somehow managed to earn this golden warmth that surrounds us, the mountains that kiss the sky. If only for a brief time; we experience Shangri-La.
I love the northwest. I am one of the proud blue tarp camper club. The elite northwest rain-soaked, pine needle covered sons of the greatest place on earth. A part of the hearty culture that thrives on caffeine and the promise of a warmer day; the warmer than normal summer that is finally going to arrive!!
Anyone know of any cheap fares to Palm Springs?

CarrieMarsh2 - I agree! I lived here all my life! I love it when the sun comes out and it's above 60! I will never leave!
