Parents will spend more than $600.00 to get one child ready for school this year according to the National Retail Federations annual survey. WHAT?? 3 kids and you're looking at close to a grand! There are tons of ways to save on these annual costs that plague parents every August. With a little thought and skill the back to school budget shouldn't be so scary.
1. A really easy way to save some green is to go back to school shopping in mid-September. A lot of stores will have everything from clothing to supplies to backpacks on-sale.
2. SHOP AT THE DOLLAR STORE! Pens, pencils, paper, pencil bags are all usually there. Huge savings to be had!
3. Keep an updated list of what school and home office supplies are already avalailable in your house, check this list first to see what you already got, and cross them off your list of things to buy this school year.
4. Sign up for retailers e-newsletters to receive coupons and exclusive previews in your inbox. Also, check Facebook and Twitter for special promotions from stores.
