Let's face it... time is tickin' here in the Pacific Northwest and summer is winding down. I couldn't think of a better way to say goodbye to summer then by having a party! Labor Day traditionally is a big last hoorah for most of us. The Michael's family usually has had an annual Labor Day party and are looking to do the same this year.
The Labor Day holiday began in the 1880s as a way to honor workers for all of their efforts. In that spirit, we encourage our guests to really relax by filling our outdoor area with hammocks, comfortable lounge chairs, lawn blankets and lots of pillows. I love Tiki torches, twinkle lights and candles in hurricane lamps too!
One year we had live music! This is an actual picture of part of our back yard that year! Lots 'O Fun!
Since it's harvest time the earth's bounty is overflowing with wonderful delights to serve too! Sun-kissed tomatoes, sweet corn and juicy berries, as well as other warm-weather favorites like lobster, steaks, ribs and anything else you can throw on the grill. And don't forget the citronella candles to keep any flying critters away!
