Here are some fun ways to treat yourself, your mom or even a daughter in your life with spa treatments made at home.
Don't forget to include the chocolate and strawberries to snack on while taking care of yourselves, they are also required in a home spa, or at least mine, lol
Summer Fruit Bath Salts
Refreshing baths are the best, especially as we head into higher temperatures. These soaks will rejuvinate you. I also make extras of these salts for gifts in little mason jars in case I need a quick girlie gift.
3 quarts of Epsom salts or course sea salt
3 to 4 drops of Essential Oils - Sweet Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Tangerine, Ginger Root & Vanilla are my faves.
4-5 drops of food coloring
Divide the quarts of salt into three separate bowls.
Add 3-4 drops of essential oils to each of the three bowls, and color to your liking.
Citrus Foot Spa Recipe
Treat mom's toesies to a soak in this cleansing and calming soak, then follow it with the sugar scrub and you'll give her wonderfully soft feet.
7 Cups of water
2 Cups of milk or goatsmilk
2-3 orange, grapefruit or lemon rinds
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons orange or lemon juice
2 tablespoons of your favorite lotion
Mix the water, milk & citrus rinds and heat on stovetop to a slight boil. Let cool.
Mix the sugar, juice and lotion in a separate bowl.
Put the milk mixture in a small tub that comfortably fits your feet, and soak for 10 minutes. Remove feet and pat dry. Rinse and refill the same tub with clear warm water. Massage the sugar mixture into your feet to exfoliate. Rinse the sugar mixture off with clear water in the tub and pat dry. One more rub with lotion and socks to seal in that moisture, your feet will be in heaven!
Nourishing Oatmeal Hand Spa and Care Treatment
Try this easy & gentle homemade hand scrub recipe, it will leave mom's & your hands nourished and soft.
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp oatmeal
1 tsp olive oil
Add the oatmeal to 1/4 cup water and let stand 10 minutes until oatmeal is softened.
Add 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon olive oil to oatmeal and mix well.
Rub mixture into your hands and let them sit for 2-3 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat dry. Apply additional olive oil drops to your hands and cuticles, and let the moisture soak in.
Soothing Cucumber Parsley Mask
The mask will rejuvenate your skin, and moisturize it too.
1 cup Plain whole milk Yogurt
1/2 cup finely chopped Cucumber
1/4 cup finely chopped Parsley
Puree the cucumber and parsley and mix with the yogurt until smooth. Gently apply mask to your clean face with fingertips or small spatula.
Leave mask on for 15 minutes for best results. Rinse with warm water.
