A car that runs on air may sound like a pipe dream, but that dream may be coming true. Peugeot Citroën says its "Hybrid Air" engine system, which runs on gas and compressed air — rather than on gas and electricity, like most current hybrid vehicles — should be ready for the road by 2016.
