This is a Drill, Only a Drill

While listening to WARM 196.9 on Thursday, at around 10:18am, you will hear that annoying test tone. You know, the "this is a test, this is only a test". That tone could save your life. We are one of few countries in the world that have such a system. This would be a great opportunity for you and everyone at your work, at school, or at home to practice an earthquake drill. Thats one reason why radio stations do these test's, often. Do you have a plan? I just arrived here a week ago at WARM. I'm not sure where the stairway is, will the elevator work, and I cross a floating bridge to get here everyday. Do I risk driving home or stay put?  These are all things that I will address myself when I hear the tone sound at around 10:18 am.  Have a plan I say!  I was on the air at a station in downtown Seattle when the Nisqually quake hit years ago. I was here when Mt. St. Helen's blew it's top. You bet I was scared as I had no plan of what to do. Now I do. Do you?
