The busy Summer Road Construction season has begun for 2013. We actually have 2012 and parts of 2011 Summer projects still cooking along. I do have to point out some Traffic Goods of area projects that deserve a "Right On". I have personally driven these road areas enough in a car , truck and pulling a boat trailer to say "Nice they are !"
* Mercer Ramp Exit from I-5 in Seattle. The bumps that you hit just as you come to the traffic light at Fairview are gone. Nice and smooth road it is now. I hit this a few weeks ago with an RV and boat trailer and what a jump up and down it was. All fixed! and new lane lines painted.
* North bound on Highway 99/Aurora Ave as you exit Battery St. Tunnel in Seattle , the potholes in the two left lanes as you cross over Mercer St. are finally paved (simple fix for now), beware of the merge of Battery St. from Denny Ave and Highway 99 just as you come out of the tunnel. Wow, will you see brake lights quickly.
* Skagit River I-5 Bridge near Mt. Vernon. Sources say next week, on Thursday, we might have a bridge ready for the loads.
* We do have one "beware friends" here. Text messaging while driving? In all of 2012 we have just over 1000 citations issued. So far in 2013, Jan 1-Jun 11? Almost 1,450 Text while driving citations issued. Oops.
