Mark's favorite boating story , Whales at Ballard Locks!

I love sharing this story every year during the boat show.  Many say I'm nuts until they see this video. My home is within view of the Ballard Locks.  I have seen everything from a Kayak to a Ferry Boat  to the new 520 Bridge Deck cruise through the Locks.  Now you can also see proof that a couple years ago we had Whales approach the Locks.  A Gray Whale and its Calf approaching the BNSF Train bridge. This shot is facing East in direction of the Ballard Locks. The water here is about 50 feet deep on high tide and often loaded with bait (herring) in late Spring. Watch for blow holes here in video.  I was home this day but did not see them.  I heard all the commotion after they had turned and headed back out to Puget Sound.  mark@warm1069.com
