Katy Perry’s New Single “1984” Is NOT A Taylor Swift Diss.

The internet caught on fire with this story yesterday: supposedly, Katy Perry registered a new song with music-licensing group BMI titled “1984.”

Due to its similarity in name to Taylor Swift’s latest album, many were speculating that this track would be a diss. Let’s put the rumors to rest: Katy’s management has stepped in to dispel any rumors, calling the story “completely false.”

A rep from Universal says she had nothing to do with “writing, singing, recording or registering this song.” Looks like the peace will last at least one more day.
