I couldn't resist using that timeless horse racing expression to title my blog, since "I'll Have Another" won the Preakness Stakes yesterday and is going for the 1st track Triple Crown in 34 years on June 9th! (Yes, ladies...it's the sports fan in me)
Now after a SPECTACULAR Season #2 of the Voice on NBC with winner Jermaine Paul, it's finals time on American Idol! I truly thought there would only be a 10th and final season of "AI" last year, but the show's staying power and great fans have garnered another down to the wire finale. The favorite (according to my evaluation) is Phillip Phillips Jr. from Leesburg, Georgia- a blusey guitar-toting, vote-getting 21-year-old who has never been in the bottom 2 or 3 throughout the entire season. His co-finalist is 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez from Chula Vista, California. This Mexican and Filipino American also competed on the first season of "America's Got Talent" and has the endorsement of many in the music industry.
The stage now is set for a huge two-night finale starting Tuesday on Q13 FOX. Here are my favorite performances from last week from both finalists:
We've all had about enough of Steven, JLo, and Randy at the judge's table for this season, and now one of these finalists (possibly both!) is headed for a huge music opportunity. This time around reminds me of Season 4 in 2005 when favorite Bo Bice was upset by now major country star Carrie Underwood.
It's the Battle of the Sexes, East Coast vs. West Coast...so who is going to win it all?
It's all up to your votes on Tuesday night...
