I’m in the running for WOMAN of the YEAR for LLS!
Thanks for checkin’ out my MWOY page! Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. I am part of team working to raise as much as possible in a 10-week period. Every dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes/raises the most money is named the Man or Woman of the Year (MWOY).
As I get set to celebrate my 50th birthday this MARCH, I’m asking for a ‘pay it forward’ gift in an effort to raise at least $50,000. A ‘Hi-Five’ gift of $5, $50, $500 or more to LLS. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.
This is the first time I’ve spear-headed and taken on something as big as this. But over the past year, I’ve been volunteering at Children’s Hospital and have seen first hand how important research and support can equal success and save lives. I’ve also learned that LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers.
For example, meet LUCY.
She’s not only our 2015 Girl of the Year, she’s also my Campaign Manager. She knows more about LLS because she’s a survivor. In fact, for her 6th birthday (last October) she received her last treatment. Yup, she beat it! Now she’ll celebrate LOTS of birthdays like I have, and that’s alot of cake:) So you see, EVERYONE wins when cancer loses!
You may know my voice, my work in radio or with the Seattle STORM or maybe an event as over the past 30 years as there have been many:) I’m asking for this one gift on behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! So do it, ‘Hi-Five for LLS‘ by simply placing a VOTE/DONATION (HERE).
I thank you soooooooo much! And so does LUCY, and all those who will ALSO celebrate several birthdays to come. I know I’ve enjoyed every single one of mine:) – Shellie Hart
Special thanks to Evan Cox, for video production…this and many more to come:)
