Lady 12’s Seattle Seahawk Fans Partner with Susan G. Komen in the fight against Breast Cancer
They are known for having an octave so high it sealed the deal to win the Guinness Book of World records for the Loudest Stadium, they make up over ½ the Seattle Seahawk fan base on social media and now the Lady 12’s are using all of their community and influence to support the fight against breast cancer.
Brandelyn Tafoya, wife of former Seattle Seahawk Joe Tafoya is also the founder of “The Lady 12’s Fan Group.” Last year was surreal” said Brandelyn, who by her husbands side helped to orchestrate some of the biggest Seahawks experiences in fan history. The young couple was a powerful force in creating community around football and more specifically Brandelyn has now gathered all of the enthusiasm, love and support of a very large group of women “The Lady 12’s” and is using their influence to impact local charities and strengthen the community. In addition to creating a space for Lady 12’s to connect around a “good cause” Brandelyn is also making a personal investment from a percentage of all online sales of Lady 12’s gear to support a different non-profit each quarter. Brandelyn said “I am trying to use our platform to support as many causes as I can and this just made sense.”
Brandelyn has personally lost 2 people that she was close to due to Breast Cancer, so when Lady 12 “Elizabeth Wright” approached her and brought the Susan G. Komen 5K to her attention and requested The Lady12’s create a team. Brandelyn was very supportive of Elizabeth who has been deeply affected by breast cancer and enveloped her cause with the Lady 12 community.
This Saturday, May 10th at Redmond Town Center Jump it Sports from 4-8pm, Elizabeth will be sharing her story as well as a representative from Susan G. Komen.
