NOEL GALLAGHER'S HIGH FLYING BIRDS and SNOW PATROL announce a rare co-headlining tour for Fall 2012 which will kick off in Portland, OR on October 23. Tickets for this must see double header begin to go on sale this Friday July 20th at 10am local time.
This will be Gallagher’s fourth USA touring visit within the last 12 months, having performed at Coachella Festival in April, as well as double sell out shows in Los Angeles and New York.
Along with a selection of classic Oasis songs, NOEL GALLAGHER'S HIGH FLYING BIRDS set will include songs from their self-titled debut album which was recorded in London and completed in Los Angeles during 2011. The album is co-produced by Noel Gallagher and the LA based David Sardy. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds was released in the U.K. on October 18, 2011 and went straight to the #1 spot achieving Platinum status within its first 3 weeks of release. It ranks among the highest selling debut albums of 2011 and still features high up in the UK album charts some 9 months after it’s release.
Upon release in the States on November 8th, 2011 through Sour Mash/Mercury Records the album received rave reviews with Entertainment Weekly noting "If there is a prize for comeback of the year at the Grammy's, this years' prize would almost certainly go to the former Oasis cornerstone Noel Gallagher."
Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated UK band Snow Patrol launched 2012 with a Top 5 Soundscan debut for their new [sixth] studio album Fallen Empires, and entered the Billboard 200 albums chart as well. Fallen Empires went straight to #1 at iTunes – was bookended by live performances on CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman , followed the same night with a full-length concert on theground-breaking Live on Letterman webcast concert series), The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Tonight Show.
