I am a bit of a crunch monster, anything crispy, crunchy or chewy rocks my boat. So when I saw this recipe it piqued my interest immediately. Tom thinks they sound fabulous too! Have a favorite recipe for lasagne? Use it. Almost any great savory recipe would work well with this, and you can make it low fat/low carb too.
Right now I am on the Zone diet, but I am so going to make these for my husband this weekend! Think of the possibilities: taco cups, pot pies, egg dishes, butternut squash/veggie, heck leftovers would probably taste great this way as well! They freeze well (according to reviews) and are great for breakfast, lunches or appetizers:
Lasagne Cupcakes
Using a muffin tin, or individual ramekins, spray with nonstick spray, or use the ready made paper cups used for traditional cupcakes. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Put two wonton wrappers (instead of pasta) on the bottom of each cup, then layer your goodies with sauce & cheese & bake them up!
Basic lasagne recipe:
Marinara sauce
Ground beef/turkey etc.
Shredded cheese/ricotta/cottage cheese
Herbs
Layer them up and enjoy~
Don't forget the Wonton wrappers!
ps- I can never follow a recipe to the 'T' so don't look for proper amounts from me on this one. :)
