Drive along most streets near a city park or anywhere you see some green shrubs and you will find a Sticker Bush loaded with Black Berries right now. In Seattle it’s all a first come first serve tradition. There is no permit needed. Be careful if the bush is on a home owners property or a business. Please park your car in a safe area and don’t just park up on a curve. Knocking on the door and asking permission would then be smart. Now among the 400 City Parks they refer to it as picking flowers which is not allowed so make sure your out of the city park boundary. In recent years the numbers showed Seattle is producing 2 million pounds of Black Berries or 1 million Deep Dish Blackberry Pies! Some popular areas in the City include Magnolia, West Seattle, Green Lake, Sandpoint-Magnuson Park, Shilshole, Ballard, Portage Bay, Capitol Hill, First Hill……-Mark Christopher
