Best and worst times to hit the road for Labor Day weekend

An estimated 35 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles for the holiday weekend. That means our major freeways — especially I-5 through Pierce and Thurston counties and near the Canadian border, and I-90 between North Bend to Cle Elum — are going to be jammed at times.

To see the best and worst times to travel, see the Washington State Department of Transportation website here.

Good luck, drive safely and have a great Labor Day weekend!

AboutSue Romero

Sue Romero has been doing news and traffic on the radio in Seattle since 1994. She is originally from southeast Alaska and moved to Seattle to go to the University of Washington. After graduating, she started her radio career in Houston, Texas, but moved back to Seattle because she missed the trees, hills, water and beauty of the Pacific Northwest. While she was in Texas, Sue danced on the NBA Houston Rockets Dance Team and still regularly takes dance in Seattle. She even attended a Seattle Sea Gals workshop, just for fun! Sue loves movies -- especially sci-fi!
